Brown's Statement in Response to Democrat's 'All Talk No Action' Energy Proposal

Following House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's announcement that the House would take up their latest no-energy legislation later this week, Congressman Henry E. Brown, Jr. (R-SC) released the following statement:

"Speaker Pelosi's energy plan is not the much needed ‘all-of-the-above' answer to our energy crisis. She continues to blatantly ignore the will of the American people by refusing a vote on legislation that will legitimately make America more energy independent and lower gas prices.

During Pelosi's press conference today to unveil her so called ‘new' energy proposals, she and her fellow Democrats continued to do nothing more than repackage their same old plan. A plan that is nowhere near the ‘all of the above' proposal necessary to help bring down gas prices, maximize the supply of all forms of American energy, and make us less dependent on foreign, and often enemy nations.

This only solidifies my belief that Pelosi and her fellow Democrats continue to be out of touch with the magnitude of this issue and the actions that must be taken to solve it. There is only one solution to our nation's current energy crisis, and it is an ‘all of the above' energy plan; without it, we cannot begin to hope for domestic energy independence."
